Hi there! Welcome to our blog! Now you can check our blog whenever you want to do so, and see what's going on - or not! Well, we arrived at Branson Lakeside RV Park in Branson, Mo, and became assistant managers. We love the managers here (Jim & Sherrell), but hopefully we will be able to spend this coming winter (2008/2009) out SW somewhere. In the meantime, we are enjoying it here. We put our house up for sale about 2 weeks ago - we know - poor timing. We have been able to see many of the shows here at drastically reduced prices. We have seen:
- SIX, a wonderful show by six brothers (Our 2nd favorite)
- Ray Stevens
- Baldknobbers
- Pierce Arrow
- Dixie Stampede
- #1 Hits of the 60's
- Acrobats of China
- Clay Cooper
- Doug Gabriel
- The Duttons
- Hamner Barber Show
- Hughes Brothers
- Kirby Van Burch
- Noah's Arc
- Oak Ridge Boys
- Peter Pan
- Platters
- Rankin Brothers
- Toni Roi (Elvis)
- Twelve Irish Tenors
Connie and some of the women went to see Barbara Fairchild at her Diner a couple of weeks ago, and enjoyed their comedy and witnessing for God.
We both went to the Cowboy Church today, and enjoyed the old-time gospel songs, but Charles kept falling asleep during the 15 minute sermon!
We often have pot luck dinners here, one was a crab & shrimp boil that Joanne (Charles' sister) & her family got to come to. Another was a Country boil (similar to the crab boil). Then we have had other themes, e.g., Mexican food. The getting together is the best part. The hardest part is when someone leaves. Most workers are here for the summer season. We work 2 days a week, and we enjoy the "work" here. Charles gets to ride around on a golf cart & visit with everyone (poor guy!). Connie gets to work in the office and talk to the people checking in and gets to play advisor on places to go and things to see (right up her alley!)
The park is on Lake Taneycomo, and trout fishermen can fish right off the docks here or go out in their boats. We are right next to the Branson Landing & Bass Pro. We usually walk over there & go to Bar Louie's for 35 cent Buffalo Wings on Monday nights, and on Tuesday nights for $1.00 hamburgers (plus 50 cents for each add-on, e.g., cheese).
Gracie (our 10 lb. mini Schnauzer) loves all the people and other dogs around here.
If any of you get a chance to come our way, give us a call! We love company!
