The park we stayed at was in Palm Desert. If you look hard to the right, you can see the back end of the Z. Brad & I played Pickleball with the couple next door. It's sort of a combination of tennis & ping pong with a heavy wiffle type ball. Brad played 4-some with the guys another day (new year's eve) while we women-folk went shopping! That night he made dinner on the grill - we did some great eating that night!!
We went to the Palm Springs Air Museum and saw all sorts of interesting planes. Brad & I rode up in the helicopter! It flew us all over Palm Springs - I think everyone has a pool. Even saw Bob Hope's estate from the air.
We rode the Palm Springs Aerial (rotating) Tramway up to the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains, an elevation of 8,516 feet. It took ten minutes to get to the top. Once we got there, it was snowing and the wind was blowing, but it was beautiful and we got out in it and walked one of the trails. Then Brad went snow skiing while Charles & I watched 3 of their videos, then sat and drank hot chocolate, people-watched, and watched the snow & wind pick up. They finally made everyone come in off the balcony because the winds had picked up to 62 mph!!! We were glad when Brad made it back safely!
Brad took us 4-wheelin' to Joshua Tree, twice. First time I've ever been 4-wheelin' and it was fun - we were on a grade 4 road. We actually drove over all those rocks you see in the picture. And those are bullet holes in the brown sign! People target practice there, and I guess somebody shot at the signs - ashame. Brad mounted a small camera on his truck for the videos.
