Near Luling, TX

When we visited Chris & Bernice in Luluing, TX (about 50 miles east of San Antonio), we all drove to churches that are called the "Painted Churches" because even though a lot of their interior looks like wallpaper, it's all painted.  I could not believe the detail that went into these ceilings & walls.  It took a whole day because it i a lot of driving between each church.  Here are just a few pictures.

St. Mary's Church in Praha, TX  Notice the ceiling.  Ouch!  My neck!

Here's Chris & Bernice in Praha, TX.  As usual, Chris was saying something that made  Bernice laugh!

St. John The Baptist in Ammansville, TX.  Just look at the ceilings & walls!  All painted by hand!

Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in Dubina, TX

I did not get the name of this beautiful church.  Remember, this is not wallpaper!  Look below the larger painting.  Looks like wallpaper!

Believe it or not, from churches to beer on the same day!   Yes, there were free samples!
