Hyder, Alaska

When we left Bob & John, and our friends, we ran into a lot of smoke from a fire from 3 weeks ago that was still smoldering! Traffic was really backed up, and we were finally led for several miles by a lead car. There was miles of damage. I have no idea how it started.

When we arrived at Hyder, we went to see the glaciers. Below are a couple pictures of the largest one, which was huge! We are at the top of the glaciers. There is also one of the beautiful streams of clear snow or rain water coming down a mountain.

We went to watch the bears catch and eat the salmon in Hyder. Salmon go there to spawn, then after they serve their purpose, they will just die if a bear does not get them first. We were standing on bridge above the river, so we were perfectly safe. :-)
